The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a nationwide network of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer. Our comprehensive approach to fighting pancreatic cancer is unique. We raise money for direct private funding of research and to advocate for more aggressive federal research funding of medical breakthroughs in prevention, diagnosis and treatment. We provide information and options by providing patients and caregivers the personalized and reliable information they need to make informed decisions. And, we help individuals and communities across the country work together to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer and the funds to find a cure.
Patient and Liaison Services (PALS)
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s Patient and Liaison Services (PALS) program is here to help pancreatic cancer patients, their families and medical teams. PALS Associates are staff members highly trained on the topic of pancreatic cancer. They are able to provide comprehensive, free, call-in services for those in need of information about pancreatic cancer. The information provided by PALS Associates is personal, individualized support that helps pancreatic cancer patients take control of their healthcare. This comprehensive program helps patients and families to understand their diagnosis and test results, learn about available treatment options including clinical trials, locate pancreatic cancer specialists, connect with other survivors and caregivers, find local support groups, and more. Each time you contact the PALS program, you will be connected to the same PALS Associate. You may contact the program as many times as necessary to get all of the information you need throughout your journey.
Two of the special highlights of the Patient and Liaison Services (PALS) program are the Survivor and Caregiver Network and Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials Database. If you are looking for support and encouragement, a PALS Associate can match you with a volunteer in the Survivor and Caregiver Network so that you can talk to someone who has been through a similar situation. You can connect by phone or email to share experiences, ask questions and get support.
